Blog Merge

May 1st, 2009

Things look a little different today. I decided to merge a few of my blogs together and spruce up the look. All content is still available. You will just be seeing stuff about things your not used to seeing… not so bad is it?

Jack Canfield Memorial Race

October 18th, 2008

We recently participated in the Jack Canfield Memorial race at Atlantic Motorsport Park. We teamed up with Mike McCrea, Chris McCrea and Rob Stone for the 3 hour race.

We prepared and ran the race in Mike’s Datsun 510, which was appropriately, one of Jack Canfield’s old cars. We didn’t have the best luck with weather considering our tire/chassis setup, but we stayed mid pack until we developed a drive train issue near the end of the race which cost us a few extra pit stops. We finished 13th, but to have Jack’s car still in good shape after the race was a good enough result to be happy with.

With that said, the racing season is now over. We learned a lot and now the racing begins in the garage, to apply all our new knowledge and ideas for next year’s racing season!

Thanks to all that helped and supported us in 2008!

2008 TRAC Tour Regional 2

June 23rd, 2008

Another race weekend in the books. We unfortunately had the same transmission issue as last race, so we had to again swap in our trusty spare. Other than that, we had a great day on Sunday. Improved lap times, and we got a chance to get some tire data.

We got an award for 2nd place for GT2 class in the TRAC Tour race.

We also caught a bit of the Unlimited Race with our on board camera.

May 28 MMSC Auto Slalom

May 29th, 2008

We took the Nissan 350Z to the local MMSC Auto Slalom event yesterday and left with FTD (Fastest Time of the Day). It was our first event using our new Jim Wolf Technology clutch and flywheel upgrade. We were impressed with the result. The car has better response throughout the RPMs. The course was a mix of fast slaloms and tight corners, with speeds reaching near 100km/h on theĀ  back sections.

Just an update on our gearbox problem last weekend, it seems that our problem is a bad syncronizer.

Shown here is the transmission shifted into 3rd gear and the shift collar gets jammed by the square block that is indicated by the arrow.
