MMSC AutoSlalom

June 5th, 2009

We brought the 350Z to the Moncton Motorsport AutoSlalom on June 3rd. The weather was beautiful and 17 competitors attended. We scored the FTD run of the evening with a 41.116, nearly 1.5 seconds faster than 2nd spot.

You can check out the results and you can see the onboard video of our FTD run here.

We’re also planning to bring the 350Z to the Regional Autoslalom on June 07 at the Magic Mountain Parking lot in Moncton. Hoping to see lots of new cars from around the region.

Apart from some autoslalom action, I’m happy to say the 510 race car is 100% ready. Every nut and bolt is tighten, it starts, it runs, its READY! We’re going to the June 14 race at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie.

See ya there.

Motorsports 2009

May 5th, 2009

The grass is green and that can only mean one thing — start doing yard work…. or that racing is about to start!

I updated the season schedule for the 2009 season. Its still a bit early to say if that schedule is finalized or not, but keep an eye on it, and hopefully I’ll see some of you at the events. We’re planning to do basically the same as last year. Compete in the TRAC Tour Championship at Atlantic Motorsport Park and follow the MMSC local autoslaloms.

One big item this year is the ASN Canada FIA Solosprint championship in September. We’re excited to participate and compare our skills/car with the rest of Canada for doing hotlaps. Slalom @ Slemon is also usually pretty interesting in that it brings competition from all over. This year we might bring the Datsun 510 there instead of the 350Z.

We’ve been doing the once over the 510 and 350z to start the season. The motor for the 510 isn’t quite ready yet, but that should be done withing weeks and ready to drop in the car.

May 28 MMSC Auto Slalom

May 29th, 2008

We took the Nissan 350Z to the local MMSC Auto Slalom event yesterday and left with FTD (Fastest Time of the Day). It was our first event using our new Jim Wolf Technology clutch and flywheel upgrade. We were impressed with the result. The car has better response throughout the RPMs. The course was a mix of fast slaloms and tight corners, with speeds reaching near 100km/h on theĀ  back sections.

Just an update on our gearbox problem last weekend, it seems that our problem is a bad syncronizer.

Shown here is the transmission shifted into 3rd gear and the shift collar gets jammed by the square block that is indicated by the arrow.
